Failed Application Update on Cloud

Initial and problematic context :

Avizzeo’s production environment ran on its cloud service using Kubernetes. Frequent application version upgrades (deployed via automated updates by their cloud service provider), prevent Avizzeo applications from starting and functioning correctly after deployment. This situation requires a manual redeployment of the application components (for each environment) on the part of Avizzeo then a restart.

Method and expertise :

Following discussions with their developers and an in-depth analysis of the malfunction and various tests, we were able to identify a DNS resolution error. The latter prevented Avizzeo’s servers from downloading updates, completing their deployment process and correctly restarting application services after the deployment of automated cloud updates.

Resolution and assessment :

We then activated the DNS cache on each of the clusters in order to resolve the update issues.

From now on, we are continuing the collaboration with Avizzeo by assisting them with their future development and IT support needs.
